Start with a sound alignment

Import overlapping photographs from one capture and align them. Review unplaced files before framing: they must be fixed or explicitly excluded before export. A projection changes geometry; it cannot repair a poor match or replace a missing photograph.

A full 360° capture is a good starting point for a Little Planet. A partial capture can still be projected, but the missing directions will show as gaps. Inspect the horizon and seams before committing to the final view.

Make a full-sphere image

Choose equirectangular to lay out the scene by longitude and latitude. Full sphere selects a 2:1 frame covering the complete sphere and locks composition panning and frame resizing. This gives an explicit spherical output rather than stretching a partial crop to a 2:1 ratio.

Uncovered sky or ground is preserved. Use PNG or TIFF if transparency is useful in a later editing step. JPEG and DNG represent uncovered areas with black. The stitcher does not generate missing content.

A 2:1 image is suitable input for many panorama viewers, but check each viewer's metadata and upload requirements. Exporting here does not publish a tour.

Create a Little Planet

Choose Little Planet and adjust its center, rotation, and scale. The Tunnel preset gives another interpretation of the same scene. Compare the center and edges closely: incomplete coverage can become particularly obvious in these projections.

Pan changes the composition beneath the export frame. Rotate changes direction. Edit frame lets you move or resize the rectangle that will be saved. Watch the persistent export outline rather than assuming everything visible in the canvas will be included.

You can also choose Perspective view for a conventional photograph looking in one direction. All these views reuse the alignment; you do not have to rematch the photographs for each export.

Inspection and export are different

Fit canvas and 100% detail help you inspect the image without changing the output frame. Composition zoom and Pan do change the exported view. Use undo if a composition gesture moves the scene farther than intended.

On entering Export, the app matches source resolution for the current projection and framing. Inspect the dimensions, choose a format, and select the destination before rendering. You can enter a smaller size inside Export for a lighter sharing file.

Save the recipe before trying several compositions. Export cancellation or failure keeps the recipe available for another attempt.
