Find the original panorama frames

For the EVO Lite, Autel lists horizontal, vertical, wide-angle, and spherical panorama modes with JPG/DNG originals. Check the capture guide for your aircraft and app version to find the files its panorama mode saved. The number of frames, folder layout, format choices, and transfer steps can differ across EVO models. Copy the individual originals; a rendered preview alone is not a source sequence for a new stitch.

Try overlapping JPEG originals when your model saves them. If its panorama mode also saves DNG originals, keep those together as a separate set. DNG compatibility depends on the particular camera and file variant. Check the source details after import.

Keep each flight's sequence separate. A finished preview mixed into the source folder can be mistaken for another view, while an incomplete transfer can leave gaps. Preserve an untouched copy before sorting or renaming files.

Transfer with the model's documented method

Follow the transfer directions in the manual for your aircraft and controller. Depending on the model, originals may come from storage media or a documented app or cable workflow. After copying, confirm that the files are full-sized originals, not just thumbnails or a stitched preview.

Open a few images locally and compare their pixel dimensions with the expected capture size. If there are JPEG and DNG versions of the same views, put them in separate import folders so duplicates do not compete for placement.

To make a sphere, inspect whether the frames reach above and below the horizon. A spherical capture label does not prove complete coverage; gaps stay gaps in the export.

Import and verify before alignment

  1. Open Vakago Panorama Stitcher in a desktop browser.
  2. Import the complete JPEG set, or a DNG set if your model saved those originals.
  3. Wait for processing and inspect dimensions, bit depth, and any decoder warning.
  4. Align the sequence and review every source that remains unplaced.

RAW processing attempts full sensor unpack first. Only after an original DNG fails can a usable embedded preview be considered. When that happens, the source details show the preview's actual dimensions and depth, the fallback status remains attached, and an orange warning persists through export and cache restore. Without a usable preview, the original failure stays visible. Upscaling that preview cannot recreate missing camera detail.

Inspect the projection and export

Inspect the horizon, rooflines, water, and treetops for doubled edges or abrupt shifts. The aircraft moves during capture, so nearby structures can show parallax even when distant scenery aligns. Repair or explicitly exclude unplaced sources before exporting.

For a sphere, select equirectangular and check coverage at the top and bottom edges. You can revise the crop and projection without aligning again. The viewer's zoom helps you inspect but does not define the exported frame.

JPEG gives an 8-bit sharing file. TIFF16 holds integer RGB values and clips values outside its range. Float32 DNG is the stitched linear RGB panorama, not the aircraft sensor mosaic. Read the panorama format guide before selecting an editing master, and retain the flight originals with the project recipe.
