Check the options on your Mini

DJI Mini drones make it easy to capture wide views in a compact setup. Mini 4 Pro offers Sphere, 180°, Wide Angle, and Vertical panorama modes, plus JPEG and DNG photo options. Choose the capture mode you need and save the individual originals.

For Mini 5 Pro panorama originals, follow the same desktop workflow: transfer one sequence, import the overlapping photographs, align them, and choose your projection and export format.

Record and keep the originals when your camera provides that option. The small panorama shown in a flight app may be a separate rendered preview.

Move one sequence to your computer

Copy the files from camera storage using a card reader or your model's documented transfer method. Put each panorama in a separate folder. Import one exposure sequence first; do not mix multiple captures or bracketed variants indiscriminately.

If a sequence has both JPEG and DNG for each position, start with one format per position. JPEG is quicker to inspect and often lighter on memory. DNG can retain more source precision when original decoding succeeds.

Hold on to the source folder after exporting. A saved project recipe stores settings and source descriptions, not a portable copy of all the source pixels.

Check what actually decoded

After import, select a source and read its dimensions, depth, and decoder information. RAW processing reads full sensor data into the high-precision working image. Display previews are separate from the output pipeline.

Original DNG failure can lead to an embedded-preview fallback where one is available. The app labels that source, reports its actual dimensions, and keeps an orange warning through export and cache restore. If there is no usable preview, the failure remains visible.

Do not treat a 16-bit export as proof that all input files retained RAW quality. The source details and fallback markers are the evidence that matters.

Align, inspect, and choose an output

Align the readable sources. Unplaced files need manual attention or explicit exclusion. Inspect water, foliage, and nearby structures for movement or parallax before choosing the final frame.

For a spherical panorama, select equirectangular and Full sphere. Missing upward coverage remains a gap. For a wide landscape, compare cylindrical with a narrower perspective crop.

Enter Export and check the automatically matched source dimensions. Choose JPEG or PNG for sharing, TIFF16 for an editing master, or Float32 DNG for a linear output. Use TIFF16 for a color-managed editing master, or linear DNG in editors that support that format.
